Dutch archer Mike Schloesser scored 598 points (out of a possible 600) in a men's compound 50m 60-arrow match in June 2023, setting a world record. Of 60 arrows, 58 struck the 10-ring and just 2 landed in the 9-ring -- near-perfect precision. Compound bows use a cam (pulley) system that reduces the holding weight at full draw, but this advantage raises the accuracy standard even further. Schloesser has been one of the most dominant figures in compound archery since the 2010s.
