Wim Hof
Netherlands
Dutch athlete Wim Hof, known as "The Iceman," endured full-body immersion in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes in January 2010, setting a world record. He developed a specialized breathing and meditation method -- the Wim Hof Method -- to maintain core body temperature in extreme cold. Scientific studies have confirmed his ability to produce physiological responses that differ markedly from those of untrained individuals. He holds over 20 Guinness records, including an Everest ascent in shorts and a barefoot marathon above the Arctic Circle.
